Today we took Penny out to this outdoor dining & shopping square, Brightleaf. She was convinced it was her job to be the official greeter, especially of anyone under the age of 5. We thought this was great and encouraging, even if it annoyed or alarmed the other patrons. She couldn't have been more social.
She refused to say or sign for milk or passy today, BUT she did a lot of imitations... for a donkey sound while we were reading, she would throw her head back and say the last part "AW" of the "EE-AW" I was doing.
Then we were playing with trucks and little people, and I had a forklift backing up. Beep Beep Beep, I said, and she moved the truck, "eeb eeb" she copied. We clapped for this one because she imitated the gesture and the sound!
And we asked her to id her toes today and she touched her nose. Dad said, no, that's your nose, can you touch your toes? And she did!
I bought her several books today at the thrift store to help with language, we'll see!
